This comment came from a conversation I had with an executive coach. He told me, "If you want to have control, loosen your grip. You're strangling your employees." He was right, of course. If you never let go of the reins, you'll never have complete control over what's going on in your organization.

But that's actually not a bad thing. In fact, it's a good thing. The most powerful organizations are those in which employees have a great deal of control over their destinies.
